About

My name is Evan Bimaputra, and I have way too many interests for any one sane person to have. And most often than not, these thoughts collide with each other. This website acts as the philosophical voice for these thoughts, where I abstract these numerous ideas through different perspectives to explore different interesting ideas.

A lot of the articles that I write will consist of amateur philosophy, whereby my consultation on reliable research will be limited in comparison to me giving my own fleshed out opinions. Of course, this may mean a less established ethos for the information I provide in my articles. But my hope, for you readers, is that you can spot that.

I don't want to indoctrinate my readership with schemas that I find to be conclusively correct. Instead, I want to introduce my readership to a vast variety of perspectives from different academic disciplines in order to cultivate the interdisciplinary vision needed for 21st century critical thinking. As I age and my lifelong quest for knowledge progresses, I hope that I myself will be able to infuse my learnings and my passions to my articles in novel ways so that I, along with my immediate community, become more open-minded.

The way I write may nerve some casual readers, since my writing style mirrors that of academia. But rest assured, I try my best to ground my philosophical reasoning in intuitive concepts, and subsequently explain every step of my reasoning so that my texts don't become as obfuscated as Kant or as figurative as Nietzsche.

If any of my articles spark further interest within you, please don't hesitate to reach out to me to discuss the concepts further. I would love nothin more than to engage in philosophical discussions with fellow philosophers.

Now that you have read my introduction, here are some of my vested interests: abstract expressionism, French existentialism, German intellectual history, foreign policy, equity trading, entrepreneurial culture, sociology, decision-making, Russian literature, music theory, Southeast Asian history, greek philosophy, pure mathematics, french language, film theory, business strategy, Dadaism, Spanish language, basketball, firm economics, creative thinking, Surrealism, geography, economic inequality, Soviet history.
